Back in 1960 Maxwell Maltz wrote a book titled Psycho-Cybernetics. Maltz’s book was and is a huge runaway business best seller that sold over 30 million copies.

The premise of the book is simple: You can improve your life by improving the image you hold of your self in your mind and body.

And the way you do that is to enter the “theater of your mind” and create pictures of the life you want to live.

In other words, you direct energy (thought) with a very defined intention (a clear picture of the life you want).

Isn’t that interesting?

That’s magic folks.

And we are all BORN with this ability.

So at the individual level, with the right intention and focus of energy, our thoughts become reality. Our beliefs and thinking creates what becomes real.

So, what happens with the collective? What happens when we have a product or service released into the marketplace? What is the potential?

Kevin Kelly, one of the thought leaders behind The Cluetrain Manifesto, explores the Hive Mind and concludes:

“Collectively, connected humans will be capable of things we cannot imagine right now.”

How, you wonder…

What does this have to do with an Agile Approach to mHealth Marketing?

Individually, as the founder or person directing the marketing effort of your firm, you no doubt have a vision, an intention, of where you want to be in your market. You envision how your mHealth products and services are used and how widely accepted. This use and acceptance in the market, hopefully translates into sales, revenues, and profits.

As you share your vision and intention with your staff and team, this vision expands. Collectively, your team adds insights and the vision expand into something bigger, something better. The Hive Mind of your intention is formed. You are building your Epic Story.

Then, you and your team of Hive Minds, based upon understanding of your buyers and users, are ready to Sprint. You’re ready to launch into the market. The Hive Mind of buyers and users share insights and feedback your original intention never even considered.

Based upon these insights, reactions, and feedback from buyers and users, you iterate your message about your vision. Your intention is now fused with the Hive Mind.

Now armed with your original individual intention, your in-house Hive Mind, the reactions and insights from the market Hive Mind, after you refine and improve your market message, media effectiveness, and understanding of buyer persona responses, you again are ready to Sprint.

You see, agile marketing is the process of taking your original intention, your vision, and tapping into the Hive Mind of both your staff and the marketplace to turn your vision into something “you cannot imagine right now.”

And it all started with a thought, a vision, an intention in your mind.

Magical.
