This year’s big game sure wasn’t what ANYONE expected.
Not even close.
Congratulations ‘Hawks. Complete domination.
I’m sure the Bronco’s wish they could have a do over. They are a much better team than they showed …
And there is the lesson. Do you learn from crushing defeat… or let defeat crush you?
Here’s the reality… January is history. February is now in play.
NOW is the perfect time for you to reflect on your 2014 performance.
Another month doesn’t need to pass for by to point 2014 in the right direction.
In fact, I’m spending a few hours this morning to give myself a check on ALL of my goals, both personal and business.
The knowledge, wisdom and strength we gain from sports are lessons and experience we can apply to our business and everyday lives.
Here’s an exercise to keep your 2014 goals on track.
Give this challenge the time it deserves.
To help facilitate this thinking, consider these questions about your performance and results.
– What big accomplishments did you make in January 2014?
– Did you change or fall back into old marketing habits?
– Have you increased qualified leads for your business or are you still wrestling with lead generation?
– Have you gained more clients or are you struggling?
– Have you strengthened your marketing message or does it still fall flat?
– Have you increased your marketing partner opportunities or failed to connect?
– Have you honestly given 100% focus and attention to each of your goals?
Why should YOU answer these questions?
Because, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.
And in order for you to make the best use of the month of February, you need to analyze your behavior and the results derived from those behaviors.
Remember, BEHAVIOR NEVER LIES!
Unfortunately the vast majority of people and businesses don’t learn enough from their mistakes or their accomplishments, and it’s Groundhog Day all over again… month after month… day after day.
But, instead of repeating the same day over and again, both companies and individuals seem to repeat the same outlook, approach, and strategies.
If you’re currently below target or unhappy with your results, you need to step up your game and deploy better execution strategies, and you need to do it now.
If you don’t correct course today…you’re guaranteed to repeat history and experience another month of under performance.
It’s that simple, change your bad behaviors and habits, or you can expect the same results.
It all comes down to execution.
Great businesses, lives, and yes, Super Bowl winning football teams are built around extraordinary execution skills.
The better you execute…the better you perform…the bigger results you deliver
… to yourself, your family, and your job or business.
You and I both know that no matter how good or bad your results were in the month of January – you can always do better, and there’s always a better way.
THE BETTER WAY
I want you to succeed and astonish yourself with your marketing and business performance.
HOWEVER I Encourage you to take a few minutes right now to take inventory of your January performance and determine…
…what you did right, so that you can celebrate and amplify it.
…what you did wrong, so that you can isolate and correct it.
…what your new goals are so that you can execute with conviction.
A CLOSING THOUGHT
Now is the time to spot bad habits and poor execution and squash them… don’t wait until March appears to assess your marketing.
Need help assessing your marketing? Let’s talk.
